Want to get customers to read your marketing messages? Then it’s time to accept the mobile reality. In EmailOutbound Networks’ 2013 Consumer Views of Email Marketing report, the message to businesses was clear: Consumers are hooked to their mobile devices when it comes to reading email. Of the 2,000 U.S. consumers surveyed, nearly half (43 percent) say they read emails most often on their mobile devices. What’s more, 63 percent say they are interested in shopping directly from emails they read on their mobile device. Of course, that means the email needs to be readable—and clickable—on a mobile device. If it’s not, nearly 30 percent say they would unsubscribe from that company’s emails.
