Moms with young kids can tell you firsthand: It takes a village to raise their children, and luckily with social media they can interact with their village simply by turning on their mobile device. According to a recent Experian Marketing Services analysis, moms with young kids (under age 5) are two times more likely to visit and participate on social media websites, more likely to shop using mobile devices and more open to digitally engage with brands than other segments of moms. The Hospitality Technology 2013 Customer Engagement Study offers a closer look at what marketing tactics restaurant owners are implementing to grow their businesses. Compared to the prior 2012 survey, use of social media had surged from 77 percent to nearly 90 percent among the U.S. restaurant executives polled in the survey. According to a recent Kentico Email Marketing Survey, only 32 percent of consumers say that email marketing efforts have improved and 31 percent feel that email marketing has gotten worse. The most common complaints about email marketing? Consumers don’t feel the content appeals to their interests, and they also hate getting too much email from one company.
