    Are you ignoring Generation X in favor of today’s trendy Millennials? While Generation X may have faded into the background in terms of media coverage since the days when they were “hip” and “edgy” extreme-sports fans, this demographic, which encompasses some 65 million Americans, is actually larger than either the Baby Boomers or Millennials. Born roughly between 1965 and 1980, Generation X is an important target market for just about any business because they are either in or reaching their peak earning and spending years. The younger edge of Gen X is marrying, having kids and buying homes; the older edge is enjoying greater purchasing power and looking forward to an empty nest as their children head for college. More than 50 percent of U.S. online adults identify themselves as “green” consumers, according to a Forrester report that surveyed over 4,500 Internet users. Speed, according to LivePerson’s second annual Connecting With Customers study, which polled nearly 6,000 online shoppers worldwide. More than three-fourths (77 percent) of consumers say they want to get things done as quickly as possible when they’re online. How long are they willing to wait for help online?                 Women in Business Tip: Boost Your Odds of Getting a Small Business Loan

                According to a 2013 Biz2Credit analysis, women are 15 to 20 percent less likely to receive approval on a small business loan application than men. Some of the reasons cited are that women-owned businesses averaged 15 percent lower average annual revenue, had 21 percent higher operating expenses and had lower credit scores.
