Although consumers seem to getting more comfortable using their mobile devices to make purchases, according to the 2013 Mobile Con­sumer Insights study by Jumio and Harris Inter­ac­tive, shop­ping cart aban­don­ment con­tinues to be a major issue for ecommerce businesses. Sixty-eight percent of smart­phone and tablet owners have attempted to make a pur­chase on their device; however, 66 percent have failed to com­plete a trans­ac­tion due to obsta­cles encoun­tered during checkout. Although con­sumers like the con­ve­nience of mobile shop­ping, one issue is that most either are still not com­fort­able entering their credit card infor­ma­tion, or find it too dif­fi­cult to enter the information on their device.
