When it comes to slashing costs, small businesses know technology is not the place to cut back. According to AT&T’s Accelerate Your Business Broadband Poll, 63 percent of small businesses with 11 to 20 employees plan to upgrade their broadband technology this year in order to increase productivity. Other small business tech priorities include increasing Internet speed (39 percent), increasing their use of social media to find new customers (47 percent), and doing more digital marketing (39 percent). You know you should be spending some of your marketing budget on mobile ads, but what platform? The top two may not be unexpected: In 2013 Google mobile revenues will be up 92. 1 percent to $8. 85 billion, while Facebook’s mobile revenue is expected to increase by more than 333 percent to just over $2 billion.Twitter’s mobile ad revenue is also expected to increase this year to about 3.6 percent of total ad revenue in the U.S. For more on Google mobile ads, check Google’s Think Insights for help. When you think about marketing to moms, you might think about parents of young children or infants, but you could be ignoring an entire category of moms: parents of college students. While you might think that college students are off on their own, free from mom and dad, a study by BSM Media reported in MediaPost found moms are highly involved in their students’ spending. Some 3.1 million U.S. high school seniors graduated in June, and some 1.1 million U.S. high school seniors graduated in June, and some 1.86 million of them (more than 60 percent) will start college this year.
