If you and your employees are taking more business trips this year, you’re not alone. The latest quarterly forecast from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) indicates that business travel spending should see continued growth throughout 2013—especially in domestic travel. Business travel spending for 2013 is expected to reach $273.3 billion–an upgrade from last quarter’s forecast of $268.5 billion for the year. Group travel spending is also expected to grow at a solid pace of 5.3 percent, reaching $117.1 billion. According to the GBTA, the rise in domestic business travel spending is a positive sign of increasing business confidence and bodes well for future employment growth.
