Even if they have personal shoppers on Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills or Fifth Avenue in New York City, wealthy consumers are likely to own a smartphone or tablet, and to consider these devices are important shopping tool. In a recent Luxury Institute survey, more than eight in 10 U.S. Internet users ages 21 and older with gross incomes above $150,000 owned a smartphone, while 56 percent reported owning a tablet. In addition, as affluent consumers become more comfortable with their smart mobile devices, they turn to them throughout the purchase process, from product research to comparison shopping and even looking up store information.
