A happy business environment means happy customers, so don’t disregard how you treat your employees. A recent survey from Restaurant DemandTracker (by Consumer Edge Insight) asked consumers what was important when choosing which restaurant to visit. The answer may surprise you: Treating employees well is more important to consumers than giving back to the community or utilizing sustainable food sources. Treatment of employees ranked slightly higher for women respondents (50 percent compared to 48 percent overall). Consumers know that when employees are happy they are better motivated, which makes for a good service experience that keeps customers coming back.
