Since I used to live in Las Vegas, people are constantly asking me what they should do while they’re there. My response is usually that there’s a different Vegas for everyone and it depends on what you’re into.

Despite the image of Vegas as purely a party town, you could have a more conservative, relaxing spa-like trip if you knew where to go. Or you could have an experience a lot like the ones in the movies, even if you’re on a budget.
So to go with the New Media Expo tips I posted, I thought a more general post about doing Vegas might help you save some money or some time while you’re in town. Instead of trying to answer the seemingly simple questions like my suggestions on my favorite places to stay, and and the things I love to do, I’ve put together a kind of guide to help you answer the questions you Don’t know to ask. These are things I wish I knew when I moved there or learned during my many trips over the years.
